RF needling in Melbourne

RF needling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, working deeper than either approach can achieve on its own. The result is more targeted collagen stimulation, with improvements in skin firmness, texture and quality that can develop progressively over a course of sessions.

Every RF needling treatment at our Melbourne skin clinic begins with a genuine conversation about your skin and what you are hoping to achieve.

WHAT IS RF NEEDLING

Understanding RF needling

RF needling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, making it one of the more targeted skin treatments for improving skin firmness and texture at a deeper level. The micro-channels created by the needles allow RF energy to be delivered precisely at a controlled depth, stimulating collagen and elastin production deeper than microneedling alone.

Results develop progressively, with many clients noticing improvements in skin firmness and texture within a few weeks. Skin quality, tightening and overall condition can continue to improve as treatment progresses, with results that can hold over time.

Before every treatment, we carry out a skin assessment to confirm RF needling is the right approach for your skin and goals. If it is not the right fit, we will tell you that too.

HOW IT HELPS

What RF needling can help with

RF needling can target a range of skin concerns. Results depend on your skin and what you want to achieve, but it is commonly used for the following concerns.

Skin laxity and firmness

RF needling targets the deeper layers of the skin, where radiofrequency energy can stimulate collagen and elastin production to support skin tightening and improved firmness over time. Many clients notice a gradual improvement in skin firmness as the collagen-building process takes effect across a course of sessions.

Fine lines and surface ageing

RF needling combines needling with radiofrequency energy, complementing the effects of skin needling but on a deeper level. Over a course of sessions, fine lines and overall skin quality can continue to improve as structural support builds beneath the surface.

Acne scarring

Acne scarring can respond well to RF needling, as the combination of micro-channels and radiofrequency energy helps remodel tissue beneath the skin’s surface. Used alongside treatments such as chemical peels, RF needling can provide a more targeted approach to tissue remodelling.

Skin texture, tone and pores

RF needling refines the skin’s surface while improving its underlying structure. Many clients notice a visible difference in texture and tone over a course of sessions, and as collagen builds, enlarged pores can gradually appear smaller and the skin’s surface more refined.

The Process

What to expect

Every appointment follows the same structure, tailoring the treatment depth and settings to your skin on the day. Here is what each visit looks like.

  1. Consultation and skin assessment

We begin by carefully assessing your skin, discussing your concerns and what you want to achieve. We then tailor the treatment depth and radiofrequency settings to your skin and its needs.

  2. Skin preparation

We apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area and wait for it to sink in before we begin. Most clients find the experience more comfortable than expected once it has taken effect.

  3. Treatment

The RF needling device moves across the treatment area in a controlled pattern, creating micro-channels and delivering radiofrequency energy to the target depth.

  4. Post-treatment care

Once the treatment is complete, we apply a calming serum to the skin. Before you leave, we explain your aftercare and what to expect over the next 24 to 48 hours.

  5. Follow-up and review

RF needling delivers its best results across a course of treatments. We check your skin’s progress at every session and refine the depth and energy settings based on what we see.

Far less than most people expect. We apply a numbing cream before treatment begins, and the treatment is generally well tolerated once it takes effect. The sensation can vary depending on the treatment area and depth.
