WHAT IS BODY CONTOURING

Understanding body contouring

Body contouring, sometimes called body sculpting, is one of the more targeted body treatments for stubborn areas that have been slow to change with diet and exercise. Radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound work together to deliver controlled warmth below the surface, helping reduce the look of stubborn pockets of fat while supporting firmer-looking skin.

Results develop progressively, with many clients noticing a difference within a few weeks of their first session. Changes continue to build across the course, and a steady routine helps you get the most from them.

Body contouring is designed for shaping rather than weight loss, and it suits people who are close to their goal weight. Our Hawthorn clinic is small by design, so appointments are unhurried and every plan is built around your goals. Before every treatment, we carry out an assessment to confirm it is the right approach for you.

HOW IT HELPS

What body contouring can help with

Body sculpting can target a range of areas. Results depend on your body and what you want to achieve, but body contouring is commonly used for the following areas.

Abdomen and love handles

The lower stomach and the sides of the waist are among the most common areas we treat. Over a course of sessions, they can look smoother and more defined.

Thighs and buttocks

Inner thighs, saddle bags and the soft fold beneath the buttocks, often called a banana roll, can look more contoured as treatment progresses. Each area is planned separately so the overall result looks balanced.

Upper arms and bra line

Softness at the back of the upper arms and around the bra line is a common concern. Over a course of sessions, these areas can look firmer and more streamlined.

Knees and loose skin

The skin above the knees can look loose or crepey, even when the shape is close to where you want it. Body contouring helps refine the area, while body skin treatments focus on the skin itself, helping it look smoother and firmer.

The Process Image

The Process

What to expect

Every appointment follows the same structure, with each session focused on one area at a time. Here is what each visit looks like.

  1. Consultation and skin assessment

We begin by discussing the areas you would like to change, your health history and what you want to achieve. We then plan which areas to treat, in what order and over how many sessions.

  2. Preparation

We cleanse the treatment area and make sure you are settled and comfortable before we begin.

  3. Treatment

The handpiece moves slowly across the treatment area while built-in cooling helps keep the skin surface comfortable. Each area takes around 20 to 30 minutes, and most clients describe a deep, building warmth.

  4. Post-treatment care

The area may feel warm and look slightly pink for a few hours. Before you leave, we explain your aftercare and what to expect over the coming weeks.

  5. Follow-up and review

Body contouring delivers its best results across a course of sessions. We check your progress at every visit and refine the plan based on what we see.

YOUR PRACTITIONER

With more than 15 years in aesthetics, Chantallè is a Cosmetic Nurse and Practice Manager experienced across cosmetic enhancement and body treatments. This broader perspective informs every body contouring consultation. When we assess an area, we are looking at the full picture of your shape and what you are hoping to achieve.

Her background in skin treatments means she looks at the skin over each area as well as its shape. She takes the time to understand your goals and is direct about what body contouring can realistically deliver. If another approach would give you a better result, she will tell you.

Risks to know about: Like all cosmetic procedures, body contouring carries some risk. Temporary redness, warmth and sensitivity are the most common effects, and we explain anything that applies to you at your consultation.
