WHAT IS CRYOTHERAPY

Understanding cryotherapy

Cryotherapy, or cryo facial, takes a different approach to most skin treatments. Where others rely on heat, acids or needles, it uses controlled cold to support the skin’s natural recovery. The cold prompts a rapid change in circulation, helping to reduce the visible appearance of redness and leaving skin looking clearer and feeling more balanced.

Results are often noticeable immediately after treatment, with many clients noticing improvements in skin clarity and evenness. With a consistent course, skin texture, radiance and clarity can continue to improve over time.

HOW IT HELPS

What cryotherapy can help with

Cryotherapy can help a range of skin concerns. The approach will depend on your skin, the area being treated and what you want to achieve.

Redness and skin sensitivity

Cryotherapy can help reduce the visible appearance of redness and support calmer-looking skin, particularly where sensitivity or reactivity is an ongoing concern. It can also complement treatments such as Rejuran, with controlled cooling helping to soothe the skin.

Dullness and radiance

Controlled cooling can help stimulate circulation, leaving the skin looking fresher and more radiant. It can be a useful option when your complexion looks dull or tired. Brightness and overall radiance tend to improve noticeably over a consistent course.

Post-treatment recovery

Cryotherapy can complement treatments such as skin needling, with controlled cooling helping to calm visible redness and support the skin as it recovers.

Skin rejuvenation and maintenance

For skin that is starting to look tired, dull or less refreshed, regular cryotherapy can form part of an ongoing maintenance plan. Treatments can be spaced according to your skin’s needs, helping you maintain a fresh, healthy-looking complexion over time.

The Process

What to expect

Whether you are coming in for a cryo facial or a targeted skin treatment, every appointment follows a similar structure tailored to your skin on the day.

  1. Consultation and skin assessment

We look carefully at your skin and talk through the concerns you want to address. We begin treatment only once we are confident it is the right approach for your skin.

  2. Skin preparation

We cleanse the skin and remove any residual product, preparing the treatment area for consistent coverage.

  3. Treatment

We apply controlled cold directly to the skin, working methodically across the treatment area for even coverage and a consistent result.

  4. Post-treatment care

Once complete, we apply a calming product to settle the skin. For most clients, aftercare is minimal, and you can continue your day as soon as you leave the clinic.

  5. Follow-up and review

Cryotherapy delivers its best results across a consistent course of sessions. At each visit, we review your skin’s response and make adjustments.

YOUR PRACTITIONER

Every treatment here starts with understanding your skin, not just the concern you came in with.

Chantallè is a Cosmetic Nurse and Practice Manager with more than 15 years in aesthetics. She approaches cryotherapy as part of a considered skin plan, using it alongside cosmetic enhancement and body treatments where it makes sense for your skin and goals.

Clients who have had cryotherapy at our Hawthorn clinic tend to say the same things. Chantallè listens carefully, is direct about what the treatment can and cannot do, and will point you towards a more suitable option if she thinks one would serve your skin better. That kind of honesty is what keeps clients coming back.
