Every facial volume consultation at our Melbourne clinic starts with a conversation about what you have noticed and what you would like to change. A consultation may or may not lead to treatment.

ABOUT FACIAL VOLUME AND DEFINITION

Understanding facial volume and definition

Faces change shape gradually with age, weight changes and genetics. Many people notice that the balance between their cheeks, temples and lower face looks different from how they remember it, even when it is hard to pinpoint exactly what has changed.

Facial volume and definition is often where a whole-face plan begins, because the cheeks and temples shape how every other area reads. Rather than looking at one feature in isolation, we look at your face from the front, from the side and in expression, because cosmetic enhancement treatments work best when they are planned around the face as a whole.

The best starting point can be a different area from the one you first notice, so we plan around the balance of your features. Where skin quality is part of the change, skin treatments can work alongside facial volume treatment.

HOW WE CAN HELP

What facial volume treatment can help with

Every plan is built around your face, but these are the areas we are asked about most often.

Mid face volume and contours

Mid face volume and contours shape how rested your face looks. Treatment can help balance the cheeks, eyes and smile.

Temples

The temples are easy to overlook, but they frame the upper face. Subtle treatment here can help the brow and cheekbones look more balanced.

Facial profile

How your face looks from the side depends on the balance between forehead, cheeks, chin and jaw. From the side, the chin and jaw carry as much weight as the cheeks, so jawline profile and definition is assessed as part of the same profile.

Definition

Treatment can help the contours of your face look more defined. We plan around your features so the result stays in proportion.

What To Expect Lnw Image

The Process

What to expect

Appointments follow the same steps, shaped around your face and your goals.

  1. Consultation and skin assessment

At our Hawthorn clinic, we begin by talking through what you have noticed and what you would like to keep exactly as it is. We then assess your face and ask about your health and any treatment you have had before.

  2. Your treatment plan

If treatment is right for you, we explain what it involves, the risks and what to expect. Your plan may be completed in one visit or staged over time.

  3. Treatment

Chantallè carries out your treatment herself, working gradually and checking the balance of your face as she goes.

  4. Aftercare

We go through your aftercare before you leave, so you know what to expect over the next few days.

  5. Follow-up and review

We see you again about [X weeks] later to review how your results have settled. A staged approach lets us refine gradually, one step at a time.

YOUR PRACTITIONER

Chantallè is a Cosmetic Nurse and Practice Manager with more than 15 years in aesthetics. She prefers to work gradually and reassess, so any change stays subtle and in proportion.

Her experience also includes skin health and body treatments, and as Practice Manager she trains the team to her own standards of clinical safety.

Risks to know about: Facial volume treatment carries some risk, like any cosmetic procedure. Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common in the short term. Less common risks include infection, allergic reaction and uneven results, and rarely, complications can be serious and need further treatment. We explain the risks that apply to your plan before you decide.
