COSMETIC ENHANCEMENT · HAWTHORN, MELBOURNE
ABOUT LIP SHAPE AND DEFINITION
Lips come in every shape, and there is no right one. What tends to matter most is how they sit with your smile, your chin and the rest of your face, so we look at the whole picture as well as the lips. Like all cosmetic enhancement treatments, lip treatment works best when it is planned around your whole face.
The aim is lip definition and balance that suits your own features. A photo of yourself that you like is often more useful in a consultation than a photo of someone else.
You can take as much time as you need to decide what feels right for you.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Every plan is different, but these are the concerns we are asked about most often.
A softly defined border can help lips look more even and polished while keeping your own shape. This is often where people choose to start.
The proportion between the upper and lower lip affects how your whole mouth reads. We look at the proportion that suits your face.
Small differences between the two sides are normal. Where you would like them to match more closely, treatment can help the two sides look more balanced.
Sometimes balance elsewhere matters more. From the side, the lips are read against the chin and jaw, so lips that look out of proportion can sometimes be a question of jawline profile and definition rather than the lips themselves.
The Process
Appointments follow the same steps each time, shaped around your lips and your goals.
At our Hawthorn clinic, we begin by talking through what you would like to change and what you want left exactly as it is. We then look at your lips, your face and your health history, along with the skin around your mouth, where skin treatments can help soften fine lines alongside lip treatment.
If treatment suits you, we explain what it involves, the risks and what to expect, and agree a starting point together. Many people choose to start small and build gradually.
Chantallè carries out your treatment herself in a calm, private room. She works precisely and checks in with you, so you stay in control of where things end up.
Before you leave, we go through your aftercare and explain how your lips are likely to look and feel while they settle.
We see you again about 2 weeks later, once any swelling has settled, to review the result and decide whether anything needs refining.
YOUR PRACTITIONER
Chantallè is a Cosmetic Nurse and Practice Manager with more than 15 years in aesthetics, and with lips she is known for restraint. She plans around proportion, so the change stays subtle and in keeping with your features.
Her experience also spans skin health and body treatments. As Practice Manager, she trains our team to work to the same clinical standards she does.
Risks to know about: Lip treatment carries some risk, as all cosmetic procedures do. Alongside short-term swelling, bruising and tenderness, less common risks include infection, allergic reaction and uneven results, and rarely, complications can be serious and need further treatment. We explain the risks that apply to you before you decide, and you can take as long as you need.
BEFORE AND AFTER
A little preparation makes a real difference to how your lips recover. If you have a wedding, holiday or event coming up, book at least [X weeks] ahead so swelling has time to settle.
